short, between the shots and photography sought "foggy" natural landscapes and breathtaking views of towns perched in the clouds, the film is a great and pleasant spot on the Basilicata and its beautiful (beautiful beauty), but the fairy tale of a journey (from the Tyrrhenian to the Ionian sea, on foot) of a group of musicians in search of themselves and a meaning to their lives, each lost in a past affair.
I would say a hippie film (how many of us have done or dreamed of a "pilgrimage" lay in a tent and sleeping bag between forests and medieval villages, with friends and guitars to follow) which makes implicit homage to Luis Bunuel, Sergio Leone , explicitly, Carlo Levi and "his" Gagliano (Aliano). As in Levi, it is the people of Basilicata, his face and his suspension in a timeless time to be the added value of the film, if not the object / subject matter.
But it is also a film with a big surprise to me that Rocco Papaleo. I knew him only as a comedian, I discover sensitive and observant writer, director as well as "read" and "refined" with a taste for citation homage, without overflowing aspirations and pretentious, yet with an original taste well defined. And then the usual Alessandro Gassman and Giovanna Mezzogiorno, which add to the film a touch of interpretive depth wise.
Basilicata coast to coast, rating: 7
