How Much Daylight Is Gained

I saw Nina fly

Why do people go to concerts? Why are there still, to listen to something that has nothing to do with the concrete life of the village? The music does not dance to the theater, not seasoned parties, ceremonies, or accompanies other important moments of life of the community. So what? Then

boh. I know what you want? What do you want to write? Since our company is dedicated to approval and has ripped the lives of citizens to fill them with concepts and styles suited to the task, people go to concerts to

a) being part of the world approved precisely

b) escape the anxiety that this creates.

But luckily the music also manages to make:

1) the unique experience of the different flow of time

2) the opportunity to achieve an aesthetic pleasure less trivial than usual.

Who wants to suggest something else and of different , say it now or be silent forever.

Good. Stefano Di Battista on soprano saxophone (performed with a tenor sax), Fabrizio Bosso on trumpet, with or without mute, Roberto Tarenzi piano, bass and Dario Rosciglione Leonardo Di Marcello on drums, have paid tribute to Fabrizio De Andrè Theatre Massimo di Cagliari. The five jazzmen have taken excerpts from the Ligurian singer, arranged them in a "european-jazz" with very, very good swing, we have almost improvised on with a well-designed frame and delicate (not to offend the ears of little educated ' average listener) and kidnapped the audience (but also the loggia) on a flying carpet whose engines were soft and completely enveloping those driven by the rhythm trio (drums, piano and bass).

The jazz was and is: a meet and jazz music is not reprocessed. In Italy they have done in many, from Franco Cerri and Gianni Basso and the tradition continues with Stefano di Battista that this virtuoso of the instrument is more than a fine arranger.

The highlight of the concert, the magic of technology mix that allowed the jazz quintet to accompany the voice of De Andrè in the song "I saw Nina fly." Poignant piece on the first loves of Fabrizio and disobedience to his father, and above the excellent plot of the five.

So, has done its job, this concert? He has fulfilled the wishes of the paying?

I would say yes. Music has renewed its commitment to pure abstraction and, as such, able to clear the reports over time, demonstrating its relativity, such as Albert Einstein. The

My foot was in constant rhythmic motion for 90 minutes, testimony and evidence that it was a jazz concert in which the swing was made by the master. The rates ranged from four to five quarters, the harmonic cadences reworked to hide and then bring out the melodic lines of De Andrè, also disguised enough (perfect, in my opinion, Don Raffaè), the phrasing of Bosso and Di Battista, complex, rich, technically clean, convoluted mind-boggling, with large excursions, although Bosso never touched high notes.

The only criticism: the piano too sacrificed. I do not know whether by choice or by mistake of the engineer who did not properly adjusted the sound volume, but the "absolute" Tarenzi, beautiful, remained in the shadows. Too bad, I would have given nine.

rating at the concert: 8
